Dermalogica: Professional Skincare from California
Dermalogica was founded in 1986 by Jane Wurwand in California, following the establishment of her International Dermal Institute. The brand develops skincare in collaboration with skin health experts and has avoided known skin irritants from the very beginning. Today, Dermalogica is used by skin therapists in numerous countries worldwide. The focus is on care tailored to each individual skin type.
The Dermalogica Philosophy
Dermalogica relies on formulas that, according to the brand, are free from lanolin, denatured alcohol, occlusive mineral oil, and artificial fragrances and colorants. The products are vegan, cruelty-free, and free from gluten and parabens. Your skin type can be determined via a skin type test, which then serves as the basis for choosing the right skincare line.
Cleansing & Exfoliation
One of the brand's best-known products is the Travel Size Daily Microfoliant, a rice-based powder that activates on contact with water and gently exfoliates with enzymes and salicylic acid. For cleansing, Dermalogica offers the prebiotic Micellar Prebiotic PreCleanse and, for sensitive skin, the Ultra Calming Cleanser. As a liquid exfoliant, the Liquid Peelfoliant is also available.
Serums & Eye Care
The PowerBright Dark Spot Serum targets pigmentation, while the Biolumin-C Eye Serum works with vitamin C on the eye area. The Smart Response Serum is formulated to respond to skin needs, and the Dynamic Skin Retinol Serum works with retinol. For mature skin, Dermalogica offers the Age Reversal Eye Complex as an eye cream.
Hydration & Toners
The Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist provides hydration with hyaluronic acid and ceramides. The Ultra Calming Mist additionally addresses sensitive, irritated skin.
Who Is Dermalogica For?
Dermalogica is for you if you are looking for professional skincare tailored to your skin type. The range spans cleansers, exfoliants, and toners through to serums, masks, eye care, and sun protection. For your daily routine, it is recommended to build on a coordinated skincare line.
