Votary is a British skincare brand founded in 2015 by make-up artist Arabella Preston and entrepreneur Charlotte Semler, and launched in the London department store Liberty. It started with pure plant oils that Arabella originally mixed at her kitchen table to prepare her clients' skin for make-up. From these hand-blended oils has grown a versatile care line today, whose formulas are vegan and not tested on animals.
The cleansing oils – the heart of the brand
Votary became known above all for its cleansing oils. The Cleansing Oil Rose Geranium & Apricot was one of the first four products and, according to the brand, is still considered a bestseller today. For a clarifying cleanse there is the Clarifying Cleansing Oil Rosemary & Oat, and for sensitive skin the Super Sensitive Cleansing Cream.
